Đọc “Dị bản” của Keng, tôi lúc nào cũng thấy như đang bơi giữa một miền cảm xúc hỗn loạn, hư ảo, chạm vào đâu cũng thấy nhói đau, hụt hẫng, trống rỗng…

“Dị bản” gồm 13 câu chuyện riêng lẻ, chủ yếu viết về tình yêu. Thứ tình yêu dị dạng trong “Tôi là Les”, tình yêu của một “con điếm hoàn lương” trong “Những sợi len đan rối vào nhau”, tình yêu bị chia lìa vì những hiểu lầm không đáng có trong “Khúc tình không tên”, tình yêu với muôn vạn sắc thái trong “Những cuộc tình chia lìa chầm chậm”, hay một thứ tình yêu theo kiểu nhí nhố, thời thượng trong “Mong manh ảo”, “Tình ảo như cánh diều đang bay”…
Nhưng dường như tất cả những câu chuyện tình ấy đều có một điểm chung, đó là không có mối tình nào đi tới đích. Hoặc dở dang, không đầu không cuối, hoặc tan vỡ trong đau khổ. Nhân vật chính trải lòng mình trong những cuộc tình chủ yếu là đàn bà. Những người đàn bà xuất thân trong những hoàn cảnh khác nhau, với những số phận khác nhau, nhưng khi yêu, dường như lại đau khổ giống nhau.
Đó là Yi và Lyn trong “Tôi là Les” – những người phụ nữ trót sinh ra là một “dị bản”, những người phụ nữ không thể yêu đàn ông bằng thứ tình yêu bản năng của tạo hóa. Nhưng họ lại yêu nhau, và người nọ đã hy sinh hạnh phúc của mình để cứu rỗi người kia thoát khỏi cái viễn cảnh trở thành một “dị bản” lạc lõng trong thế giới người.
Đó là người đàn bà không tên trong “Những sợi len đan rối vào nhau”, người đàn bà đã từng làm cái nghề bán phấn buôn hương, nhưng quyết tâm hoàn lương để yêu người đàn ông của cuộc đời mình. Nhưng số phận cay nghiệt đã không cho cô có được niềm hạnh phúc trong tình yêu. Cô buộc phải tìm đến cái chết để giải thoát mình khỏi kiếp người khổ đau, ai oán.
Hay cô gái tên Nhi trong“Những cuộc tình chia lìa chầm chậm”, một cô gái đã đi qua không biết bao nhiêu mối tình trong ở trong đời, với cả những người đàn ông cô yêu và yêu cô. Thế nhưng, kết cục lại là “Đều yêu tôi. Đều bỏ tôi. Đều quên tôi. Nhưng tôi mãi mãi không sao quên được!”. Người yêu cô thì không thể mang lại hạnh phúc cho cô. Người cô yêu thì lại quyết tâm rời xa cô vì những éo le mang tên “số phận”…
Có người bảo thế giới của Keng gai góc quá, nhiều màu xám quá, cuộc đời thực đâu phải lúc nào cũng như thế. Đã đành là không thể tránh khỏi khổ đau, nhất là khi yêu, nhưng cũng không phải không bao giờ có những đoạn kết hạnh phúc. Những người nhận xét như thế quả không sai. Nhưng chẳng hiểu sao tôi vẫn có cảm tình với những cái gai góc, u ám, thậm chí đau đớn ấy trong truyện của Keng. Tôi nhớ mình đã khóc khi đọc những dòng miêu tả nỗi cô đơn của một cô gái xa nhà lên thành phố học tập và làm việc trong truyện “Gia đình – người tình và áo khoác”: “Ở thành phố này, mùa đông không mưa phùn gió bấc, không rét cắt da cắt thịt, em không cần phải giữ ấm thân thể mình. Vậy mà trái tim em thường xuyên lạnh, bởi nó trôi lênh đênh giữa một không gian hoang hoải giá băng. Em không cần một đám cháy thật to – nóng rát, em chỉ mong một đốm lửa nhỏ quẩn quanh bên mình, thỉnh thoảng chạm tay vào cảm nhận bên cạnh mình có nguồn hơi ấm. Mỗi khi em lạnh, những khoảnh khắc bên cạnh người ấy ào về, giống như cái việc em lôi chiếc áo khoác từ đáy vali ra mặc giữa khí hậu nhiệt đới của thành phố này. Nó ấm áp và thân thương lắm, dù không phải lúc nào cũng ở bên cạnh em, nhưng nó thuộc về em… cho đến khi nào em vứt bỏ.”.
Có lẽ tôi cũng giống cô gái ấy, thèm đến xót xa một bờ vai để dựa vào giữa chốn phồn hoa đô hội chỉ toàn những gương mặt người dưng. Cũng đang thấy lạnh, cho dù giữa xứ nhiệt đới, khi nhiệt độ ngoài trời lên tới 38 độ. Cũng mong lắm một chiếc áo khoác của riêng mình, thuộc về mình, để thi thoảng lôi ra mặc cho trái tim mình bớt run lên vì nỗi cô đơn khắc khoải…
Đọc “Dị bản”, có thể bạn cho rằng nó nhàn nhạt, không có điểm tựa, đôi khi rối tung rối mù và khó nhớ. Có thể bạn đúng. Nhưng tôi vẫn thích, đơn giản chỉ vì tôi tìm thấy mình trong đó. Và thêm một điều nữa, tôi tin chẳng phải ngẫu nhiên mà cô gái sinh năm 1983 ấy đặt tên cho tập truyện ngắn của mình là “Dị bản”. Bản thân nó đã là một cái gì đó khác biệt, không hoàn hảo. Cho nên tình yêu mới chỉ thấy mất mát và chia ly. Cho nên người phụ nữ nào cũng đau khổ và bế tắc. Và bản thân mỗi chúng ta, có ai dám tự tin cho rằng mình hoàn toàn không phải một “dị bản”? Trong đời, chẳng có thứ gì là hoàn hảo, điều quan trọng là con người ta biết tìm ra những nét khiếm khuyết của mình để sửa chữa, hoàn thiện nó.
