(Đặt tít to tát vậy thôi chứ toàn nói chuyện liên quan đến Keng không à!)
Giữa năm 2008 Keng xuất bản tập truyện đầu tay, bìa chỉ đơn giản là tên Keng có đuôi chữ G kéo dài thành cái chân, trên đó đặt kiêm tốn tên Dị Bản và dòng chữ câu tiền “Chỉ đọc khi tuổi đã 18”.
Bìa sách này được em thiết kế cùng công ty tên Trương Hồng Dung sáng tạo, tuy nhiên khi mang qua NXB, bị chê là: “Nói thiệt với em cái bìa này nó quá giản đơn chứ không phải là đơn giản nữa!”. Nhưng mà Keng thích, và bạn bè trên blog cũng vote nhiều, nên đòi NXB chọn theo ý mình luôn. Hihi…
Sách ra, tính đến giờ bán khoảng 24.000 cuốn, báo chí lâu lâu “mắng mỏ” rằng cố ý làm bìa gây shock, có bài ghi: “Một dòng rao sách bán vạn cuốn”, trong khi xuất phát điểm của Keng là muốn cảnh báo một chút về nội dung hơi giới tính của truyện.
Ba tháng sau ngày ra mắt (in nối bản 3 lần x 2.000 cuốn) Keng đổi bìa, vì NXB sợ bị in lậu. Bìa được anh làm cùng công ty tên Võ Cao Đỉnh vẽ. Bố cục chắc chắn, chỉ có duy nhất quả táo đỏ cắn dở nổi bật. Sau đó thấy cuốn Chạng Vạng cũng sử dụng đề tài táo, không biết ra đời trước hay sau, bị đụng hàng, một em an ủi: “Kệ nó! Dù sao táo mình vector vẫn đẹp hơn!”. Anh GĐ NXB rất hài lòng về bìa sách này. Cho đến giờ đây là cuốn sách bán chạy nhất của Keng.

Cuối hè năm 2009, Keng ra tiếp 2 cuốn sách: Hồng Gai và Đôi Mắt Không Còn Ướt Nước, bìa đều do em Lê Thanh Nhật thiết kế. Vì muốn cùng phong cách nên 3 màu đen – đỏ – trắng tiếp tục bành trướng không cho thêm đứa nào chen chân vào. Tất nhiên để cùng style với Dị Bản, ở mỗi cuốn sách mới đều có thêm một dòng subtitle thể hiện tinh thần của truyện.

Hồng Gai được PR rầm rộ (chê nhiều hơn khen), Đôi Mắt Không Còn Ướt Nước thì chỉ ăn theo hào quang nên mối duyên với báo chí rất là hẩm hiu. Hai cuốn đều nối bản 2 lần, mà chẳng hiểu sao lượng phát hành của Hồng Gai ít hơn Đôi Mắt Không Còn Ướt Nước, híc híc…
(có người bảo đây là nguyên nhân, dù Đôi Mắt Không Còn Ướt Nước là tập truyện ít lẳng lơ nhất trong 3 cuốn sách đã xuất bản của Keng. Huu…)
Nhân tiện giới thiệu cuốn “55 truyện ngắn, 10 tác giả best-seller Việt Nam” phát hành tháng 1/2010, Keng chẳng liên quan gì đến thiết kế in ấn nhưng trong đó có 3 truyện ngắn rất dở hơi của Keng (đọc lại thấy xấu hổ quá!). Cuốn này không biết in nhiều hay ít, chỉ biết sau khi xuất bản Keng được nhận nhuận bút 500.000VNĐ (phew) ^^!
Thời gian qua Keng mải mê chạy theo công việc trong ngành quảng cáo để kiếm cơm đến nỗi viết cái gì cũng dang dở. Giờ chán phận làm thuê nên ngồi ở nhà hư cấu tùm lum và lâu lâu đi chơi cho hết tiền cũ. Dự định của Keng là từ giờ đến cuối năm phát hành 3 cuốn sách:
1. MUỐN CHẾT (Tập truyện dài rời rạc, dày khoảng 300 trang, kể về một cô lúc nào cũng muốn chết). Cuốn này viết về tình cảm gia đình, mối quan hệ khốc liệt giữa cha mẹ – con cái. “Tác phẩm này gửi đến những bậc phụ huynh bất lực trong việc dạy con và chia sẻ cùng bất kỳ ai từng khóc vì cha mẹ mình” – Đây cũng là thông điệp gắn trên bìa 1 để câu view cho truyện. Chắc chắn sách sẽ được phát hành trong tháng 6/2011
2. PHÍA DƯỚI THIÊN ĐƯỜNG (Tập truyện lộn xộn, khoảng 200 trang, bao gồm 8 truyện ngắn của Keng (chiếm hơn 130 trang) và giới thiệu 1 truyện thị giác của nữ họa sỹ Mộng Mỵ (chiếm gần 70 trang) – Khái niệm truyện thị giác khá mới mẻ, nhưng bạn cần đọc sách mới cảm nhận được). Tinh thần xuyên suốt cuốn sách là cuộc chiến giữa lòng yêu thương và cái chết. Nói tóm gọn là: Tranh thủ thương yêu thật nhiều khi còn sống, lỡ mai người mình muốn yêu thương chết đi, thì hối hận cũng không kịp. Cuốn sách cũng sẽ được xuất bản trong tháng 6/2011.
3. LINH TỘC (Tập đầu tiên của bộ truyện thần tiên kỳ ảo mà Keng đang ấp ủ, hiện tại viết được khoảng 30.000 chữ, nên chưa biết sẽ dày bao nhiêu trang). Keng dự tính sẽ phát hành tập 1 sau tháng 10 (vào ngày 11/11/2011 thì càng tốt). Keng đã ngỏ lời (mồi chài, dụ dỗ, năn nỉ) hotboy – họa sỹ Phan Vũ Linh vẽ minh họa (anh ý hay vẽ minh họa cho sách của Phan Hồn Nhiên, nhưng quan trọng hơn là vì anh ý cũng tên Linh… kaka). Bộ truyện sẽ là cách Keng tái cấu trúc lại tam giới thần tiên – người phàm – ma quỷ, thông điệp trá hình là phản đối tình dục và chiến tranh, nên dù rất là rắc rối, trắc trở thì nói gọn lỏn: NO SEX, NO WAR là được (hem có phải “make love, not war” nha mấy pồ).
(giống 2/3 thông điệp trên áo bạn boy này, phần ba còn lại là vẫn có “ME” nha!)
Nhìn cái hình trên tranh thủ PR một tẹo: Bạn trai ý tên Hoàng Nam Việt, cũng là một kỳ tài đồ họa, hội họa, (chắc cả tai họa nữa) trong chốn võ lâm. Trong tương lai Keng sẽ hợp tác với tài năng thiên bẩm của bạn ý cho một cuốn truyện phiêu lưu viễn tưởng. (vì cuốn này chỉ mới phác thảo cốt truyện và viết được khoảng 10 trang à, nên chưa biết lúc nào hoàn thành, hy vọng là 1 năm sau). Rất thích nét vẽ và những ý tưởng điên khùng (hơi hơi bệnh bệnh) của bạn ý! Coi sản phẩm thì biết nè!

Quay lại chủ đề cũ: Cả 3 cuốn sắp tới của Keng chưa cụ thể giao vào tay ai vì đang có 5, 6 bà đỡ đòi nhận làm. Và cứ đà này, Keng muốn mình viết đến long bàn phím, hỏng laptop để năm sau ra tiếp 3 cuốn (vì lỡ đâu đại họa 2012 hoặc chiến tranh thế giới lần 3 xảy ra thì còn ngậm cười nơi chín suối).
Tạm thời mới nhờ chị bạn tên Linh Thảo thiết kế bìa cuốn MUỐN CHẾT, Keng yêu cầu tone pink tăm tối (còn cuốn PHÍA DƯỚI THIÊN ĐƯỜNG sẽ có tone blue tươi sáng), chị ấy gửi cho Keng vài định hướng và hứa sẽ gửi tiếp cho Keng có nhiều lựa chọn:
Option 1: Cắm đầu xuống vực sâu tự tử
Option 2: Ngồi trên nấm mồ nghĩ về cái chết
Option 3: chưa rõ ý tưởng và hơi bị teen
Nhưng mà Keng thích cái bìa 2 nên đã hoàn thiện nó như sau:

ÔI! Chả biết cuốn này có hút khách được không, nhưng cứ vậy đi đã! Hihi…
Trăm đường đại tiện trưng cái “chưn rung” của Keng được hotboy Phan Vũ Linh ký họa nhanh trong một buổi chiều nhập nhoạng mà sáng đèn ở café Pandora của anh ý vào bài này luôn.
(Keng thấy có hơi hướng mấy nhân vật ác thâm hiểm căn cơ trong truyện tranh dù được anh Lê Thanh Phương khen long lanh hơn ngoài đời. Tất nhiên rồi! Vì ngoài đời Keng hiền khô, nhã nhặn, rất chi là nội tâm, thậm chí có phần nhút nhát nữa!)
