Tôi không phải là người Trung Quốc. Những cụ ông cụ bà tóc trắng mái đầu ở nơi cha mẹ tôi sinh ra đều còn dấu ấn bàn chân Giao Chỉ chẳng mang nổi dép. Vậy mà một cơ thể không hề pha chút máu loãng phương Bắc dường như lại thấm đẫm tinh thần Trung Hoa anh hùng ngay từ khi mới biết cảm nhận về cuộc sống.
Đó là một nguồn suối lớn chảy từ ấu thơ với những huyền thoại thánh thần: Bàn Cổ khai thiên lập địa, Nữ Oa đội đá vá trời, Tôn Ngộ Không đại náo thiên đình, Na Tra được tái sinh hình hài từ sen… đến mức suốt một thời gian dài tôi tưởng rằng… Phật gốc ở Trung Quốc.
Suối chảy thành sông, tôi tuổi niên thiếu là một bãi bồi được vun đắp đạo đức bằng phù sa của những tấm gương nghĩa trí, trung liệt, hiếu hạnh sáng ngời lý tưởng lập nghiệp, suốt thủa Tam Hoàng Ngũ Đế, trải Thương – Chu – Tần – Hán, qua Tấn – Tùy – Đường – Tống, đến Nguyên – Minh – Thanh có hàng ngàn, hàng vạn điển tích – điển cố hiện diện hoặc ẩn thân trong các câu chuyện đất Việt. Tam giáo (Phật – Lão – Nho) tồn tại từ thời Trung Hoa Cổ Đại thì ảnh hưởng kín mít lên nền tảng văn hóa của dân tộc… Việt Nam.
Và giờ đây tôi cứ như kẻ ở hạ nguồn bị đẩy phăng ra biển bởi những con lũ hùng mạnh, hung hãn xuất phát từ xứ Tàu. Nhìn quanh mình là cả một đại dương made-in-China, trí tuệ – phẩm vật, hữu hình – vô hình; tinh thần – diện mạo;… có chỗ nào là không? Nước suối, nước sông có thể ngọt, tôi đã từng uống sự trong lành, nhưng biển vốn xanh lại quá nhiều muối mặn sao có thể giúp dưỡng trí, tu tâm? Có từng bơi giữa biển cả mênh mông nhiều cá mập mới ngộ thấu khát khao được nương náu, bảo bọc nơi đất mẹ.
Một công dân như tôi vốn ít quan tâm sâu đến yếu tố chính trị. Cần gì hiểu tình hữu nghị Việt – Trung 16 chữ vàng chữ bạc ra sao cho nhọc lòng. Rồi bận tâm chi nhiều về lịch sử, chắc gì dấu tích còn lại đã chính xác. Bởi vậy chuyện tham gia biểu tình đòi quyền biển đảo cứ xa vời vì tôi không rảnh mà cũng chẳng thấy hợp lý với cuộc sống của mình.
Song dẫu có vô tâm với những điều đó tôi vẫn ý thức mình là người Việt Nam, sinh trưởng tại Việt Nam, và chẳng muốn chết ở đâu khác ngoài Việt Nam. Đơn giản là cảm giác được nền đất mình đang đứng, nâng tôi lên khỏi mặt biển đầy sóng ác tham vọng nhấn chìm những con người không chịu sống đời cá nhỏ. Chỉ những kẻ hèn nhát và ngây thơ mới cam tâm hòa mình vào vùng nước dữ, mong được chút ơn mưa móc để được hóa thân thành cá mập, rồi một ngày kia thực hành cái lý luận cá lớn nuốt cá bé. Ôi mong ước ngây ngô của những kẻ quay lưng với đất mẹ, có còn biết nhận ra mình không còn chân để đứng trên mặt đất hít thở khí trời!
Tôi đã từng yêu những trí tuệ Trung Hoa, những nhân vật kiệt xuất, những câu chuyện xúc động lòng người… như cách Nguyễn Du yêu thương nàng Kiều ngày xưa, hoặc như Trang Hạ đồng cảm với Hạ Âu thời hiện đại. Dẫu cho cụ Nguyễn Du từng bị một nhóm người lên án mạnh mẽ vì gửi hết tinh hoa Việt cho một ả đĩ Tàu, dẫu cho một số bạn bè tôi kiên quyết không đọc văn Trang Hạ vì chị suốt ngày dịch sách truyền bá tư tưởng Trung Quốc. Và cho đến giờ tôi vẫn yêu những gì mình đã từng yêu. Nhưng đó là sự đồng hóa tự nhiên của tính chất nhân văn sâu sắc, chứ không phải dưới dạng ân huệ ẩn dấu dã tâm một cường quốc muốn thôn tính một nước láng giềng nhỏ hơn.
Tôi yêu nền văn hóa dầy dặn của Trung Hoa, những tàng thư vĩ đại, những tri thức thẳm sâu… Vì nước tôi cũng đã học hỏi rất nhiều để xây nên một Việt Nam hiện tại. Ngôn ngữ, tâm linh, phong tục… ít nhiều đều chịu ảnh hưởng, song tuyệt thay tinh thần dân tộc thì vô nhiễm hoàn toàn. Một đứa trẻ ít học cũng hiểu được điều căn cốt: có đi vay mượn thì nhà tôi vẫn là nhà tôi, nhà người vẫn là nhà dưng xa cách. Có ai lại vì chút nợ hình thức mà lao đến trước nhà người nhận là máu mủ ruột già của họ? Họ sẽ cười cho, họ sẽ nhổ nước bọt vào mặt bằng dáng điệu sang cả coi khinh.
Vậy mà mù quáng và nực cười ở thời hội nhập nay, lòi đâu ra cô “tiến sĩ Đại học Yale” gốc Việt Nam vu khoát, trí trá rằng: “Việt Nam là một phần trong da thịt của Trung Quốc”, “Người dân Việt Nam bắt nguồn từ Trung Quốc, Vua của Việt Nam cũng khởi tổ từ người Trung Quốc, coi vua Trung Quốc như anh như cha… từ Ngô Quyền, Đinh Bộ Lĩnh, hay Lý Công Uẩn, rồi các gia tộc họ Trần, Lê, Nguyễn, v.v…”. Chẳng biết cô ấy qua bên trời Tây lấy chồng Mỹ từ bao giờ (?) và từ đâu (?) mà nhận thức về dân tộc tính suy đồi đến độ ngơ ngáo như vậy. Đúng là một cách nhìn quá khác, quá chỏi với cái học vị gắn trước tên cô. (Cũng may đến thời điểm này thì cái danh xưng Tiến sĩ của cô ta cũng được tổ trách là mạo nhận).
Việt Nam của tôi hiện tại, hàng giả, hàng độc hại, hàng kém chất lượng gắn mác Trung Quốc ngập tràn, sản phẩm truyền bá tư tưởng phủ kín từ trung ương đến địa phương, phẩm vật tốt đẹp đều bị mấy chú Tàu khựa lợi dụng sự kém hiểu biết của người dân mà mua với giá rẻ mạt… Tất cả từ một quốc gia láng giềng tôi ngưỡng mộ đấy! Tôi vẫn khẳng định mình có lòng yêu mến Trung Hoa, như yêu hương sắc tự thân của một đóa hồng rực rỡ, nhưng không có nghĩa tôi yêu được cả những gai nhọn cố ý tẩm đầy độc tố chỉa ra tua tủa dưới cành lá kia.
Hỏi cô “tiến sĩ mạo” họ Đỗ có bao giờ “hưởng” những gai độc của đóa hồng Tàu trên mảnh đất ông bà cha mẹ mình đã từng chết? Cô ấy có thể tự coi mình là con dân của quốc gia bá đạo cường quyền đó vì lý tưởng qụy lụy thấp hèn của mình. Song việc dùng thứ ngôn ngữ suy đồi của một kẻ mang tầm vóc tri thức hòng mê dụ người Việt thoát ly khỏi lòng tự tôn dân tộc là điều khiến một công dân không thích trau dồi lý luận chính trị, chưa từng bài xích văn hóa Trung Hoa như tôi cũng không thể nào chấp nhận nổi.
Tôi yêu Trung Hoa, yêu theo cách biết lọc chân – thiện – mỹ để tưới xanh tâm hồn mình, cũng như tôi đang yêu tất cả tinh túy nghệ thuật được nâng lên thành Đạo của nước Nhật, hay những sản phẩm công nghệ thần kỳ của Mỹ và Tây Âu,… Yêu vậy, để biết rằng quê hương tôi đã khó khăn đến dường nào khi giữ vững được độc lập chủ quyền trước những quốc gia có mưu đồ bành trướng vừa hùng vừa bạo suốt mấy ngàn năm. Yêu vậy, để biết rằng tổ quốc tôi hiền hậu và thiệt thòi ghê gớm khi nhọc công nuôi lớn những đứa con bội phản, ra khỏi vòng tay đất mẹ là trở ngược đâm lén sau lưng. Yêu vậy, để biết rằng mình là một người Việt Nam không lai tạp, không hề chối bỏ phận khó của dân tộc mình!
