Sở làm – Gần như là một công ty dịch vụ lao động cao cấp. Đầu người được niêm yết trong danh sách nhân lực toàn thạc sỹ, tiến sỹ, du học nước ngoài trở về Việt Nam làm việc. Hàng chất thì hiếm, không hề có những cảnh hỗn độn nhốn nháo như ở các trung tâm giới thiệu việc làm. Thảng có những vị khách đạo mạo, đầy lịch lãm bước vào, nàng chưa kịp đứng dậy chào thì sếp đã từ phòng riêng phi ra đón với điệu bộ hớn hở nhiệt tình. Đối tác tuyển dụng cũng toàn đơn vị sừng sỏ, mỗi lần có yêu cầu chỉ gửi qua một bản Fax nhằng nhịt tiếng Anh mà nàng không thể nào đọc được bằng cái vốn liếng ít ỏi của mình.
Thư ký văn phòng – công việc tẻ nhạt ngoài sức tưởng tượng của nàng. Ngày ngày ngồi trước một loạt những thiết bị: máy tính, điện thoại, fax, photocopy, … nàng thấy mình trì trệ hẳn đi. Ngoài việc ngồi làm cảnh trong văn phòng, nàng chỉ được hoạt động thể chất mỗi khi nhận được công văn gì đó đem vào phòng sếp và thỉnh thoảng được sai phô-tô tài liệu, hay đánh máy lại một văn bản nào đó. Lịch trình nhàm hết cỡ.
Ngoài nàng và sếp, công ty còn có thêm chị kế toán, anh marketing, chú bảo vệ và cô tạp vụ nữa. Ai cũng có “chuyên môn” riêng và làm việc của mình, thỉnh thoảng bông lơn vài câu lúc rỗi việc. Sếp ít nói nhưng gương mặt rất thân thiện nhờ đôi mắt biết cười. Khi cần nhắc nhở ai, sếp kín đáo gọi vào phòng riêng nói chuyện. Tuy là thư ký nhưng nàng ít có thời gian tiếp xúc với sếp. Thường xuyên là những nụ cười xã giao thấp thoáng từ xa, họa hoằn lắm nàng được bẽn lẽn đứng trước bàn làm việc của sếp để giao công văn giấy tờ.
Vợ sếp là một người phụ nữ trầm tĩnh, bà đến công ty vào mỗi sáng thứ 7, tổng kết sổ sách, tình hình làm việc. Nghe kể bà làm việc trong một công ty đầu tư rất lớn của nước ngoài, bà tham gia vào việc kinh doanh của chồng với vai trò một kế toán trưởng. Gặp bà lần đầu tiên, nàng đã thấy phần bụng dưới hơi nhô cao. Đoán chắc bà đang có thai.
Sếp có vẻ là người chồng tốt, luôn nhẹ nhàng tình cảm với người vợ đang mang thai của mình. Nhìn một gia đình thành đạt hạnh phúc, nàng thầm ước tương lai mình cũng có một cuộc sống như thế, một người chồng như thế. Nhưng một con người quá khứ tì vết như nàng, liệu có thể lấy chồng?

Ba tháng thử việc qua nhanh, nàng được nhận mức lương mới gấp rưỡi mức lương cũ. Mặc dầu nàng ngạc nhiên vì thấy bản thân mình vốn không giúp ích gì được cho công ty ngoài việc làm một bình hoa nhàn nhạt hương di động trong văn phòng.
Phu nhân của sếp đã thôi không đến công ty để ở nhà nghỉ dưỡng. Nghe nói bà sẽ sinh một bé trai. Một hôm sếp gọi nàng vào phòng và nói rành mạch:
- Anh sắp có chuyến công tác nửa tháng ở thành phố Hồ Chí Minh để giám sát một dự án lớn. Cần có trợ lý lo giấy tờ. Em có thể đi cùng không?
Nàng tròn mắt ngạc nhiên, nhìn sếp đầy bối rối. Đi công tác cùng sếp, ở một vùng đất hoàn toàn xa lạ. Sao sếp lại chọn nàng? Nàng đâu phải là một nhân viên có năng lực. Khả năng giao tiếp của nàng không xuất sắc. Nàng chỉ có thể nói bập bõm vài câu tiếng Anh bồi không rõ nghĩa… sếp có nhầm không khi chọn nàng làm trợ lý? Hay là sếp có ý đồ gì khác? Nàng cắn môi và nhìn thẳng vào mặt sếp:
- Em rất muốn được đi để biết về Sài Gòn, nhưng em sợ mình không đủ khả năng làm được việc anh giao…
- Anh chỉ cần người đi theo nhắc việc và quản lý giấy tờ giúp, nên anh nghĩ không có khó khăn gì với em. Chắc chắn em sẽ làm tốt. Vậy nhé! Nhớ về thu xếp việc nhà, thứ hai chúng ta bay chuyến 7h sáng. – sếp không biểu lộ điều gì, nói một cách rất thản nhiên.
- Dạ, em sẽ cố gắng ạ! – nàng lý nhí trả lời cho cái mệnh lệnh nhã nhặn khó cưỡng của sếp. Một chuyến công tác, sẽ hiểu được sếp là người như thế nào. Có thể nàng sẽ không còn phải hình tượng hóa con người sếp nữa. Dù gì nàng cũng đâu phải là gái ngoan.
Hai tiếng trên chuyến bay của Việt Nam Airline, sếp nhắm mắt lim dim ngủ, nàng bâng khuâng nhìn qua ô cửa, hút mắt vào ngàn mây, cũng chẳng hiểu mình nghĩ ngợi gì.
[Đàn ông có vợ 4] chờ sẵn ở sân bay đón nàng và sếp bằng một chiếc Isuzu dán đến khoảng gần chục logo của các nhãn hàng anh ta nhập khẩu và phân phối. Nàng cười xã giao, chẳng biểu lộ vui, buồn. Hai người đàn ông đi cùng nhau nói chuyện kinh doanh đầy hứng khởi. Họ có những hành trình đầy tự tin về lĩnh vực kinh doanh của mình.
Sếp của nàng đang có vài dự án về bất động sản nên đề nghị [Đàn ông có vợ 4] đưa thẳng sang khu đô thị Phú Mỹ Hưng. Họ hẹn đến tối sẽ cùng nhau đi ăn. Điểm dừng chân của 3 người là trước tòa nhà BroadwayA trên đường Nguyễn Lương Bằng. Đô thị mới nên vắng tanh, lác đác dọc dãy cao ốc vài ô văn phòng mở cửa, Security rải rác ở những góc đường. Chia tay [Đàn ông có vợ 4] nàng cúi đầu chào với nụ cười rất nhạt. Không muốn nhớ đến những chuyện đã từng xảy ra giữa nàng và anh ta nữa. Đứng trước mặt sếp, nàng là cô em họ xa của anh ta, chỉ đơn giản như thế! Song anh ta nhìn nàng với anh mắt tha thiết đầy niềm vui. Tự nhiên nàng cảm thấy như trong lòng đang có một bộ móng tay cào vờn, nghịch ngợm đầy ác ý. Hơi chút khó chịu.
Văn phòng nằm trên lầu bốn, rộng thênh thang, nhân viên ít đến nỗi cảm tưởng như bóng ma. Sếp chỉ nàng ngồi chờ trên chiếc salon kê mé cửa rồi đi vào một căn phòng. Nửa giờ sau sếp trở ra và ngoắc nàng đi theo. Bên lề đường đậu sẵn chiếc Innova đang mở cửa, người lái xe hồ hởi chạy đến xách giúp sếp chiếc valy đặt vào đằng sau. Nàng và sếp lên xe, được tài xế đưa thẳng vào khu biệt thự Mỹ Gia cách văn phòng không xa. Nơi đó có hai villas của công ty dành cho cấp quản lý và đối tác ở mỗi khi đến Sài Gòn.
Biệt thự đẹp mê hồn, khu vườn kiểu cách nằm giữa hai villa xanh ngăn ngắt. Chị quản gia chỉ cho nàng một căn phòng trên lầu ba có bức tường hướng về phía mặt đường toàn bằng kính, hờ hững phủ rèm vàng nhạt. Nàng khóa trái cửa lại và mới bắt đầu tận hưởng không gian riêng của mình. Từ lúc vào đến thành phố nàng chỉ biết lũn cũn khoác balo đi theo sếp mà chẳng dám phát biểu bất cứ ý kiến gì. Cơ thể căng như dây đàn giờ mới có dịp thư giãn. Nàng nằm lăn ra chiếc giường nệm êm ái, giơ chân giơ tay đủ các tư thế cứ như đứa trẻ mới được dọn về nhà mới. Ngấm mệt nàng ngủ thiếp đi cho đến khi nghe thấy tiếng chuông điện thoại reng réo rắt. Sếp gọi nàng sang phòng bếp nhà bên ăn cơm trưa.
Chị quản gia dọn lên vài món ăn rất ngon mắt. Nàng không đói lắm nên nhấm nháp qua loa trong vẻ bẽn lẽn. Sếp thì không ngừng ngợi khen tài nấu ăn của chị quản gia, khiến chị ấy cười tít cả mắt. Riêng nàng biết sếp rất giỏi xã giao. Nụ cười không chỉ in dấu trên môi mà còn vẽ rất chi tiết trong đôi mắt. Khi mới gặp sếp lần đầu, nàng đã gọi đó là người đàn ông có đôi mắt biết cười.
Chiều sếp giao cho nàng một tập tài liệu loằng ngoằng những bản vẽ khó đọc: đó là những dự án xây dựng khu trung tâm thương mại tại Bình Điền, Long Khánh, Cần Thơ… Sếp giải thích cho nàng về cách thức làm việc của mình trong Sài Gòn, tại văn phòng đại diện cho VieHome Group. Sếp không phải là chủ, chỉ tham gia với tư cách là cổ đông trong vai trò điều hành dự án. Những cổ đông lớn hầu hết là Việt kiều Mỹ, chỉ thỉnh thoảng xuất hiện tại Việt Nam. Hiện tại tất cả còn đều trên bản vẽ nên chưa tuyển nhiều nhân lực để thực hiện. Nàng sẽ giúp sếp ghi chép lại nội dung các cuộc họp mặt đối tác và quản lý giấy tờ cho sếp. Nói chung không có gì quá phức tạp, chỉ cần nàng cẩn thận một chút mọi việc sẽ tốt. Nàng được ở lại villa để nghiên cứu và lập cách tổ chức công việc sắp tới của mình, còn sếp qua văn phòng làm việc.
Buổi tối, chiếc xe Isuzu với đủ loại logo xuất hiện trước cổng villa, Sếp gọi nàng xuống đi ăn tối cùng với anh họ, và dạo cảnh Sài Gòn. Anh họ nàng nghĩa là [Đàn ông có vợ 4]. Nàng cáo mệt, rằng mình chưa quen thời tiết nên trong người rất khó chịu, xin được nghỉ ở nhà. Khi nào khỏe sẽ hẹn gặp sau. Sếp cũng không nài ép gì nhiều. Hơn giờ sau, anh họ nàng gọi điện từ trong một không gian vang vang (có lẽ là Rest-room)
- Có phải em ngại gặp anh?
- Em thực sự thấy mệt chứ không có ý gì.
- Vậy em có còn nhớ anh không ?
- Em không quên, nhưng cũng không muốn nhớ làm gì cả.
- Thực tình anh vẫn thường xuyên nhớ đến em.
- Nhớ để làm gì ạ? Anh hiểu rõ mối quan hệ giữa chúng ta là gì mà?
- Nhưng…
- Em chỉ mong sao trước mặt sếp em anh vẫn coi em là một cô em họ xa lắc là được rồi! Em không muốn tiếp tục những điều sai lệch trong ý thức của xã hội nữa. Nên xin anh hãy giúp em điều đó!
[Đàn ông có vợ 4] ngậm ngùi tắt máy. Có lẽ nàng sẽ không bao giờ phải gặp anh ta với những suy tưởng hoang mang nữa. Nàng thấy mình đã nói rất thẳng. Thẳng thắn và rành mạch về một điều kết thúc. Nàng có là đĩ, thì cũng vẫn luôn nghĩ mình có một cái giá đi kèm lòng tự trọng.
Nàng ở kín trong phòng, giữ ánh sáng đèn ngủ mờ tỏ. Đứng dựa khung kính nhìn khu biệt thự sáng điện vắng lặng. Hoàn toàn không có một bóng người đi lại trên những con đường trải nhựa nhỏ sạch. Cả thế giới như mất tích và nàng thì bất động. 23h nàng nghĩ mình phải đi ngủ để mai có sức cho công việc mới. Kéo bức rèm lại và nàng nằm lên giường. Thao thức, vì đôi mắt cứ muốn mở ra. Lạ nhà, nàng không thể nào ngủ được. Các cơ bắt đầu mỏi và mắt nàng thì cứ thao láo. Ban đầu nàng nghĩ sự yên tĩnh và sức mệt của chặng đường sẽ giúp nàng ngủ ngay được nên đã không uống thuốc an thần. Biết rằng suy nghĩ đó đã sai nên nàng lục balo lấy ra 2 viên thuốc ngủ màu vàng cầm xuống trệt kiếm nước uống.
Vừa bước ra khỏi bậc cầu thang cuối cùng nàng giật mình vì thấy sếp đang ngồi trầm ngâm trước chai rượu Absolute chỉ còn non nửa.
- Khuya lắm rồi sao sếp chưa đi ngủ?
- Anh có một số rắc rối cần suy ngẫm. Còn em sao vẫn thức?
- Em không ngủ được, nên xuống lấy nước uống thuốc…
- Nếu không buồn ngủ thì ngồi đây uống rượu với anh
- Em không biết uống rượu, nhất là nghe nói Absolute rất mạnh.
- Không biết uống rượu mà biết rõ về rượu? Em có nói thật không đấy?
- Thì là em nghe nói mà. Có chuyện gì phiền lòng, sếp nói cho em với được không? Đằng nào em cũng đang không buồn ngủ… – tự nhiên nàng nảy ra ý định trò chuyện với sếp, để không còn cảm thấy sếp mình quá lạ lẫm và khó hiểu.
- Em ngồi đi. Anh cũng chỉ bận lòng một chút chuyện gia đình thôi. Không có gì nặng nề cả.
- Hình như khoảng 3 tuần nữa chị ấy sẽ sinh con trai phải không ạ?
- Ừ! Nhưng nói em đừng cười nhé! Có người nói đó không phải con anh…

Nàng im lặng nhìn vào người đàn ông ngồi đối diện mình, có thể sếp đã uống quá nhiều để không cần phải giữ gìn lời nói. Không phải con sếp thì con ai, đó là một gia đình rất hạnh phúc trong mắt nàng mà.
- Anh nghe điều đó bắt đầu từ khi cô ấy ốm nghén. Nhưng anh không tin, nghĩ rằng ai đó muốn gia đình anh xáo xào nên phá. Nhưng gần đây người tình cũ của cô ấy đã nói trực tiếp điều đó với anh. Gã đó nói đợi đứa trẻ ra đời sẽ xét nghiệm ADN, và nếu thực sự là con gã, gã sẽ đòi bằng được.

Sếp đưa ly rượu lưng lửng về phía nàng. Trong hoàn cảnh đó, có lẽ chẳng ai từ chối được trừ khi uống ly rượu đó xong sẽ nguy hiểm đến tính mạng. Nên nàng miễn cưỡng cầm lên với vẻ cảm thông sâu sắc và bụm miệng uống một hơi. Cổ họng cay xè và hơi nóng theo hương rượu lan khắp người, nóng bừng. Nàng chạy vội ra rót lấy cốc nước lọc uống lấy uống để, như người ta hắt nước sầm sập và một ngôi nhà đang cháy. Cơ thể nàng như bị cháy đi vì những giọt rượu nóng bỏng đó.
Sếp vẫn rót rượu ra ly, trầm ngâm. Đôi mắt thường ngày biết cười sâu thẳm nỗi buồn. Lần đầu tiên nhìn thấy sếp ở một tâm trạng khác, nàng len chút thích thú trong tâm trí. Có một chút nhiệt huyết tràn trên da thịt, nàng lại ngồi hỏi sếp vu vơ về chuyện dự án và cuối cùng uống thêm một ly rượu nữa. Sếp uống nốt giọt rượu cuối cùng trong chai, cười cười:
- Hết rượu rồi, cũng phải nghỉ thôi. Chúc em ngủ ngon
- Vâng, sếp cũng ngủ ngon nhé!
- À, anh có đem về 1 cái laptop, để em làm việc cho tiện, máy cũ không được xịn cho lắm, em thông cảm nhé! Ghé phòng anh, anh đưa luôn cho.
Sếp ở lầu 2, rộng gấp đôi phòng nàng, có đầy đủ bàn ghế và rất sang trọng.
- Em ngồi đi, chờ anh lấy ra và chỉ em cách dùng wireless.
Nàng ngồi e lệ trên chiếc ghế da, sếp lục tủ lấy là một cái laptop Dell đặt lên bàn và bật máy. Qua vài thao tác sếp chỉ nàng cách vào mạng, các tập tin cho công việc sếp lưu ở chỗ nào, và những mẫu công văn cần sử dụng đến nay mai. Nàng chỉ biết vâng dạ và cảm kích vô cùng sự nhiệt tình và quan tâm của sếp. Bất giác quay sang nhìn đăm đắm gương mặt người đàn ông đang say xưa bấm chuột mở các tập tin giới thiệu. Đột nhiên sếp cũng ngừng nói khi bắt gặp ánh mắt của nàng. Quay đi như một kẻ trộm gò má nàng đỏ ửng, vì rượu hay vì xấu hổ? Nhưng nàng cảm nhận rõ nồn nột hơi nóng đang tỏa ra trên da mặt mình. Nàng thấy một hơi thở kề sát đôi môi mình rồi bàn tay nhẹ nhàng nâng cằm nàng lên… một sự quyến rũ thần bí thu hút hết cảm xúc của nàng, lý trí dường như đã bỏ đi đâu đó và lạc đường chưa thể quay về.
Họ quấn lấy nhau và xiết chặt trong nụ hôn dài. Nàng chỉ biết rằng mình bị hấp dẫn về tất cả từ người đàn ông này. Cảm giác ướt đẫm khiến nàng cứ áp sát thân thể mình vào đối phương cho đến khi anh ta nhẹ nhàng bế nàng lên giường và cởi bỏ lớp váy áo thì cũng không hề có bất cứ một sự phản đối nào. Y như sự thôi thúc của bản năng, chưa bao giờ nàng khao khát những vuốt ve đến thế, chưa bao giờ cảm thấy sức nặng đè lên cơ thể mình có ý nghĩ mạnh mẽ đến thế… nàng và người đàn ông đó như đang cùng dìu nhau trong một điệu nhạc nơi cõi thiên thai, dịu dàng, nồng nàn, như muốn tan chảy.
Các cơ thịt nàng mỏi rời, lòng lâng lâng khoan khoái, nàng muốn ngủ lắm, nhưng cảm giác bên bết ở phía dưới. Trong cơn hưng phấn, cả hai đều chẳng ai ý thức được rằng phải dùng biện pháp bảo vệ gì. Lần đầu tiên nàng cảm nhận mình tìm được thứ bản năng phụ nữ, không còn thấy tình dục là sự hành xác và dầy vò mình.
Lần đầu tiên nàng muốn hiến dâng tất cả xúc cảm, chứ không phải trong tình trạng phòng thủ và chịu đựng như trước đây, với những người yêu và những người tình. Nàng nhẹ nhàng ngồi dậy và đi như một con mèo vào phòng tắm. Cố nhớ lại xem kỳ kinh nguyệt cuối cùng của mình vào ngày nào? Lúc nào nàng cũng rất cẩn thận trong quan hệ tình dục nên không bao giờ lo lắng về việc căn ngày rụng trứng. Vì vậy nàng chẳng thể nhớ nổi. Chắc chắn ngày mai nàng sẽ phải uống Postinor.
Nàng trở ra thấy bạn tình đã ngủ ngon lành. Có lẽ cả men rượu lẫn men tình đã ru anh ngủ. Nàng kéo chăn đắp lên cho anh, rồi khẽ khàng mặc quần áo đẩy cửa lẻn về phòng mình. Vậy là nàng thêm một lần nữa “have-sex” với một người đàn ông có vợ. Nàng hiểu thêm khái niệm enjoy trong sex là gì. Với người đàn ông này sex, không còn là sự chịu đựng nặng nề nơi xúc cảm nữa. Chỉ còn đỉnh cực khoái thăng hoa…
